Manama, The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) will host the "Youth Forum for Intangible Cultural Heritage" at the Cultural Hall to mark the first-ever World Day for Intangible Cultural Heritage, organised by UNESCO. The forum aims to raise awareness among young people about the importance of intangible cultural heritage and its role in preserving Bahraini identity. BACA will showcase its projects related to intangible heritage and its efforts to ensure its continued preservation, highlighting Bahrain's rich traditions in folk arts, music, crafts, food, and fashion. Students from public and private schools are expected to attend, giving them a chance to learn how intangible cultural heritage strengthens national identity and promotes Bahrain's cultural image internationally. BACA has achieved significant milestones, including adding the art of Al Fajry, associated with pearl fishing, to the list of the world's intangible heritage. The authority has also organised various specialised forum s for intangible cultural heritage, expanded its focus on handicrafts, and completed several infrastructure projects supporting this heritage across the Kingdom.
