Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command forces carried out preemptive operations, during which they arrested 11 suspects in different areas of the capital.
A statement by the Baghdad Operations Command stated that: “In order to enhance security and stability and maintain the security achievement achieved, and in conjunction with the security plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage, forces in the (6th, 17th) Infantry Divisions carried out preemptive search, inspection and armed reconnaissance operations that included the shoulders of the Tigris River and the central islands within the “Tarmia” district north of Baghdad, as well as the areas, villages and countryside adjacent to the pilgrims’ transportation road within the “Mahmoudiya” district south of Baghdad, which resulted in the arrest of 11 suspects according to various legal articles, including seven violators of the controls and conditions of the Residence and Nationality Department, and the seizure of a boat violating the orders and directives issued by the Opera
tions Command.” The statement added: “The suspects were handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them.”
