Bahrain Mobility International Centre, Arab Union for Voluntary Work concludes second regional conference

Manama, The Bahrain Mobility International Centre, in collaboration with the Arab Union for Voluntary Work, held the closing ceremony of the second regional conference. The theme discussed building and sharing joint learning on reproductive health issues for people with disabilities. The event took place at the Gulf Hotel, attended by Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, the Minister of Social Development. The minister emphasised Bahrain's ongoing efforts to promote the rights of people with disabilities and secure further achievements to enhance their active participation in society. These efforts align with the National Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2023-2027). He highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation with government, civil, and private institutions to provide equal opportunities for this group across all sectors. Al Asfoor noted that the conference aims to achieve more gains for people with disabilities, particularly in healthcare. He referred to the legal framework that ensures the protection of their rights across a number of areas, aiming to uphold fairness and equal opportunities for all citizens, especially people with disabilities. He affirmed that the ministry, in partnership with the community, is committed to providing all necessary support and care for people with disabilities, ensuring their comprehensive protection and equal treatment within society.
