Bahrain’s national athletics team returns to heroes’ welcome

The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has prepared an official welcome for the Bahrain national athletics team on their return to the kingdom, following their successful participation in the 19th Asian Games, hosted by the city of Hangzhou, China.

Bahrain’s athletics team bagged as many as 16 medals during the current Asian Games, including 10 golds, one silver and five bronzes, which enabled it to maintain its leading Arab position and second Asian place, behind hosts China, regarding the medal tally.

Dr, Abdulrahman Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority (GSA), Naoman Al Hassan, BOC member, Khalid Al Dossari, Vice-President of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA), and BBA board members welcomed Bahraini champions upon their arrival at the Bahrain International Airport.

Dr. Askar conveyed greetings and congratulations from His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman, GSA Chairman and BOC President, to the delegation of the Bahrain national athletics team, praising their distinguished achievements during the 19th Asian Games, which enabled them to maintain their second Asian position and first Arab place well deservedly.
