Ramallah-Ma'an- Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Amjad Barham met today, Thursday, with the winners of the Arab Reading Challenge competition at the Palestinian level; they are the champion of the Reading Challenge at the Palestinian level, Salsabil Sawalha, the champion of the Reading Challenge in the category of people with disabilities, Joan Asaad, the distinguished supervisor in the challenge, Fadi Abu Hamdeh, and the distinguished school for girls, Awarta Secondary School. This was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Student Activities Sadiq Al-Khudour, Director General of Student Activities Hamed Abu Makho, Head of the Cultural Activities Department Nadine Touqan, Principal of Awarta Girls School Buthaina Awad, and a cadre of student activities. During the meeting, Minister Barham praised the excellence of the two students and the winners of the competition, stressing the Ministry's constant keenness to support and sponsor student talents and deliver them to Arab and international f orums. He called on the two students to prepare for the competition that will be held at the regional level, considering that their participation and competition in this competition represents Palestine, its students and its creators in the best way. Students Sawalha and Asaad spoke about the importance of reading in developing awareness and knowledge and enhancing culture and its diversity, stressing the importance of providing all the elements that encourage reading in schools and making it a way of life.
