Basra Governorate and the supporting authorities have completed their preparations for the success of the match between our national team and its Omani counterpart this evening, Thursday, at the Basra Sports City Stadium, as part of the World Cup qualifiers, and to show it in a more beautiful way that befits Basra and its loyal fans. Basra Police Commander, Major General Latif Abdul Redha Al-Saad, confirmed the full readiness to secure the match between the Iraqi national team and its Omani counterpart, calling on all fans to cooperate and adhere to security instructions, to ensure the success of this important sporting event. He said, "The police leadership has prepared a comprehensive security plan to ensure the safe and successful conduct of the match, in order to provide a safe environment for fans and participating teams, and to emphasize commitment to the highest standards of safety and security during this important sporting event. He pointed to the combined efforts made by all parties, in order to p resent an honorable image, reflecting the civilized face of Iraq in hosting such international events. For his part, the head of the security committee in the provincial council, Aqeel Al-Furaiji, confirmed Basra's security and sports readiness for the start of the match between the Iraqi national team and its Omani counterpart, as well as receiving the members of the delegation, the team and the Omani ambassador, noting that "the atmosphere is now suitable and ready for the referee's whistle to start in the first match that will be held at the Palm Trunk Stadium in the Sports City."
