Border Crossings Authority: We Are Committed To Implementing All Decisions, And These Are Our Procedures

The Border Crossings Authority affirmed its commitment to implement all procedures and decisions issued by the Council of Ministers and Parliament to work accordingly.

The head of the authority, Major General Omar Al-Waeli, said, in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), that "all official procedures and government decisions issued by the Council of Ministers, and legislation approved by the Parliament, are circulated to all border crossings and work is carried out according to them."

He added, "We take all legal measures against violators who enter any prohibited substance, and they are referred to the judiciary to hold them accountable according to the law."

He explained, "The authority carries out a comprehensive electronic audit process through the approved electronic gates at the border crossings, during which exemption programs, pre-examination, certificate of origin and invoices are audited," noting that "all paper procedures are electronically checked to prevent fraud or smuggling and manipulation of public money." noting that "the Ministry of Finance is concerned with applying the automation system and has its own procedures."/ End
