Doha: The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) took part in the 20th meeting of the committee of presidents of the GCC Red Crescent societies and associations, hosted by the Qatar Red Crescent in Doha for two days. Representing the Society were Dr. Fawzi Amin, a Board Member, and Adel Al-Jar, the Assistant Secretary-General for Committee Affairs. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of the work plan for the period 2025-2030 set by the Committee of Excellencies, highlighting priority areas and shared objectives outlined in the plan. Additionally, discussions included updates on the Volunteer Work Award for Red Crescent entities in the GCC States, insights from the Gulf Voluntary Forum held in December 2023, and preparations for the Gulf Red Crescent Day activities observed annually on October 23rd. BRCS reaffirmed its commitment to representing the Kingdom of Bahrain in these pivotal gatherings, aimed at bolstering collective Gulf cooperation in humanitarian and relief endeavors, fostering joint eff orts in developmental initiatives, amplifying Gulf presence in international humanitarian forums, and aligning positions within relevant global organizations. Furthermore, the Society voiced its endorsement of the meeting's outcomes pertaining to the advancement of collaborative volunteer initiatives. This includes facilitating knowledge exchange on humanitarian regulations and legislation, enhancing Gulf-wide coordination in humanitarian media endeavors, nurturing skilled human resources in volunteer work, diversifying funding sources for humanitarian projects, establishing a unified information system for humanitarian endeavors, elevating the visibility of Red Crescent bodies and associations across GCC States, and fortifying joint coordination in times of disasters and emergencies.
