China confirmed, on Sunday, that it opposes any violation of Lebanon's sovereignty. It said in a post on the Chinese Foreign Ministry website that it affirms its opposition to any violation of Lebanon's sovereignty. An air strike by the occupation forces led to the martyrdom of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah in the southern suburb of Beirut. China said it was "deeply concerned" and "closely following" escalating tensions in the Middle East, after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in airstrikes in Lebanon. "China is closely following this incident and is deeply concerned about the escalation of tensions in the region," the Chinese foreign ministry said in a statement. The ministry urged "all parties, especially Israel, to take immediate steps to calm the situation." The ministry said it opposed any violation of Lebanon's sovereignty.
