Baghdad, The head of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, revealed record numbers in the use of mobile phone services in the holy city of Karbala during the first ten days of the holy month of Muharram, which witnessed the commemoration of Ashura. The Communications and Media Commission stated in a statement, 'According to the statistical indicators announced by Al-Muayyad, the number of mobile phone service users during the above period reached 24,563 million subscribers, including 23,256 million local subscribers and 1,306 million international subscribers.' During this period, Ashura visitors made 95,536 million successful phone calls, and users exchanged 46,622 million SMS messages. The head of the Communications and Media Commission pointed out that 'the city of Karbala also recorded a significant increase in the volume of data transferred via mobile phone networks, as the total volume of data transferred reached 3,576 terabytes.' He added, "The largest portion of this consumption , 2,999 million gigabytes, was allocated to social media networks and applications, with the TikTok application topping the list with 841,080 GB, followed by Facebook with 846,344 GB, then YouTube with 596,543 GB, then Instagram with 447,253 GB, and finally Telegram with 89,836 GB." gigabyte".
