The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) is holding a roundtable meeting today for the information technology sector in the State of Qatar, in the presence and participation of HE Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology. The meeting will be attended by a group of local industry leaders and senior representatives of entities operating in the information technology sector, in addition to representatives from government and academic agencies.
CRA is holding this meeting out of its keenness to communicate directly with stakeholders and actors in the information technology sector, in order to exchange views and experiences related to the development of the local industry, as the information technology sector is an important enabling factor for economic growth and its diversity, social prosperity, and environmental sustainability, especially In light of the rapid technological development globally, and the quest to make the State of Qatar a digital regional center.
The discussions will contribute to strengthening the CRA’s efforts to develop visions for launching more government initiatives in the ICT sector, and to develop an effective regulatory framework that contributes to supporting the sector's growth and enabling it to reach its full potential in the future.
