Ramallah - Together - Minister of Culture, Imad Hamdan, during his meeting with the representative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Palestine, Noha Bawazir, today, Wednesday, stressed the importance of supporting the cultural sector in Palestine, specifically in the Gaza Strip, especially artists, writers and authors who document History through their daily observation of the forms of war. The two parties discussed the damage and impact of the aggression on everything related to intangible heritage in Gaza, as well as on artists and the artistic and creative sector in general. The two parties stressed the necessity of forming a national team to document and inventory these damages, as UNESCO affirmed its readiness and willingness to accompany the Ministry in this effort and provide the necessary technical support. The two parties discussed the field of joint work within the framework of the 2005 UNESCO conventions on the diversity of cultural expressions, and the 2003 conventions for the protection and preservation of intangible heritage.
