Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, confirmed his continued full support for the journalistic family to carry out its duties and exercise its media role. Shakhwan said in a statement, "We support the demands of journalists in Kirkuk Governorate and defend their legitimate rights. We congratulated the journalist (Marwan Ibrahim) on assuming the duties of chairing the preparatory committee for the branch of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate in Kirkuk, by decision of the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami." He added, "We congratulate this decision and support the choice of journalist Marwan to represent journalists in Kirkuk, confirm their rights and implement their demands, noting the importance of strengthening ties and brotherhood among all components in the governorate." He said that we stand in solidarity with journalists and are always keen to obtain their legitimate rights in a fair manner, and we support young people in achieving what they aspire to and enabling them to serve society.
