Baquba, Diyala University ranked second in Iraq in the British Times World Classification in its global edition for the year 2024 after appearing in the same rank in the Asian edition. The President of the University of Diyala, Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, said in a statement: We congratulate the students of the university for this distinction in the field of competition at the local level, which was represented by the emergence of our university in second place among the universities participating in the classification, praising the efforts of the teachers and researchers that resulted in the effective contribution to achieving the academic reputation of the university. He called on everyone to maintain the momentum of these achievements in order to advance the university's status and prestige. For his part, the official of the World Classifications Unit, Khaled Ghadban, explained that the British Times World Classification reveals the strength of higher education in the Arab region and relies on standards of teaching, scientific research, community service, and an international outlook to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons.
