Doctors Without Borders Condemns Resumption of Israeli Onslaught on Gaza Strip

Paris: Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has condemned the resumption of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, considering it a dangerous escalation that portends dire humanitarian consequences for the residents of the Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, the General Director of MSF France, Claire Magone, stated that MSF was shocked by the attacks Israel launched on Gaza, which broke a two-month ceasefire and resulted in hundreds of casualties, mostly children. She highlighted that Israel once again chose collective punishment against the Gazans, with apparent approval from its closest ally, the United States.

Magone pointed out that the intense bombardments on civilians in Gaza have been unprecedented since the early stages of the war that erupted in October 2023, stressing that for more than 15 months prior to the ceasefire, people in Gaza were maimed, killed, and randomly displaced. She called for lifting the siege of the Strip and helping the population access unhindered life-saving basic aid.

Israel resumed its offensive in the Gaza Strip at dawn Tuesday, after a two-month halt under a ceasefire deal that took effect on Jan. 19. However, it violated the terms of the deal throughout the two months, continuing to bomb various areas across Gaza, resulting in casualties. It also refused to implement the humanitarian protocol and tightened its siege on the already devastated region.
