Doha steps up preparations for 2023 World Judo Championships

Doha- Doha is preparing to stage a spectacular edition of World Judo Championships next year from May 07-14, 2023.

 

A delegation from the International Judo Federation (IJF) began an extensive site visit to Doha in light of the process of coordination that precedes every major championship.

 

The Vice President and Director General of the local organizing committee, Mr. Khalid bin Hamad Al Attiya stressed that he is confident that Doha would be ready to host the best world’s Judokas next years.

 

“All the big pieces are in place. Our task over the next year is to link all the pieces together as we prepare to stage an innovative and exciting event edition of the world championship.” He said.

 

Mr. Claudiu Chimoiu who led the IJF’s team, said that everyone was impressed by Qatar’s preparations to host the word championships and hailed the cooperation of LOC members with IJF to provide athletes with world-class facilities.

 

“We have made good progress in our planning during my visit. One of the goals was to forge closer relationships between key personnel at the LOC and the IJF because that united team will form the foundation for a successful edition of championships after seven months.”
