Egypt and Türkiye have appointed ambassadors to each other's capitals to restore normal diplomatic relations.
Amr Elhamamy to become Egypt's ambassador in Ankara while Türkiye nominated Salih Mutlu Sen to become its ambassador in Cairo, according to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the National News (MENA) reported.
"This step aims to establish normal relations between the two countries once again and demonstrates their mutual determination to work towards enhancing their bilateral relations," it said.
They agreed to reappoint ambassadors back in April after their foreign ministers met in Cairo.
