Egyptian and Russian Foreign Ministers Discuss Middle East Tensions

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, engaged in a phone conversation to discuss the rapidly changing situation in the Middle East and the ongoing efforts to promote calm and de-escalation.

According to Qatar News Agency, Abdelatty expressed concern over the serious implications of the ongoing cycle of violence and the expanding scope of conflict in the Middle East. He emphasized the need for coordinated regional and international efforts to reduce the escalation, manage the conflict, and prevent further tension and instability in the region.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of prioritizing de-escalation, diplomacy, and dialogue in addressing the situation. Both ministers also deliberated on the draft resolution being put forward at the United Nations Security Council concerning the developments in the region. They underscored the necessity to continue political efforts aimed at peaceful resolutions to crises through dialogue and diplomatic means, in a way that maintains regional and international security and stability.
