Eight people were killed and injured in a traffic accident north of Hilla, the center of Babylon Governorate.

Babylon Police Information Director, Brigadier General Adel Al-Husseini, said: “A vehicle overturned on the highway linking Babylon and Baghdad near the Alexandria district, and the accident led to the death of two people and the injury of six others, including three children.”

He added: "The wounded were transferred to Al-Hilla Surgical Hospital, and the police opened an investigation into the incident."
