The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, called today, Tuesday, to stop the aggression on Lebanon and implement international resolutions, including Resolution 1701. Al Thani said in a speech during the inauguration of the fourth session of the first legislative term of the Qatari Shura Council: "Israel deliberately chose to expand the aggression by implementing pre-prepared plans in other locations such as the West Bank and Lebanon." He added: "Destruction will not work with the steadfast Palestinian people who adhere to their legitimate rights, and Israel will have no choice but to submit to the two-state solution after all this killing and destruction." He explained: "We warned against the escalation in Lebanon and the Israeli aggression against it and its consequences for the region." He continued: "We renew our condemnation of the air strikes and military operations launched by the Israeli forces on Lebanon, and the easiest and safest way to stop the escalation on the borders with it was t o stop the war of extermination in Gaza." He said: "We succeeded in reaching the truce agreement that was implemented last November, and we are continuing to make every effort to reach an agreement that ends this war despite the obstacles that hinder mediation efforts."
