The technology sector also rose 0.3 percent, supporting the index as European investors shrugged off US Nvidia's quarterly forecasts that failed to meet global traders' high expectations. Spain's IBEX 35 index rose 0.1 percent after data showed inflation eased to 2.4 percent in August. In contrast, the oil and gas sector fell 0.2 percent, hurt by a nearly 2 percent drop in Equinor shares. European economic sentiment and business confidence data are due today.
