The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, stressed the importance of combating extremism and continuing to work to prevent the return of the terrorist organization ISIS.
He said in the opening speech of the ministerial meeting of the "international coalition" against ISIS held in the capital, Riyadh, today, Thursday, that the Kingdom will make every effort to pursue ISIS wherever it is.
Bin Farhan also affirmed that "Saudi Arabia believes in the necessity of confronting terrorism and extremist ideology, and will continue coordinated efforts to uproot the scourge of terrorism from its roots."
He also stressed the need to work to prevent ISIS from taking advantage of any opportunity to return again, and to dry up its sources of financing.
He urged all countries of the world to work together to spread the values of tolerance and dialogue, pointing out that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 focuses on sustainable development, supporting youth and developing ways of dialogue.
In turn, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken affirmed that his country is committed to defeating ISIS and getting rid of the scourge of terrorism, but he warned that Afghanistan and some African regions have witnessed a rise in ISIS attacks.
He also warned in the speech he delivered during the meeting that keeping the foreign ISIS militants in the camps threatens the return of the organization, calling on the concerned countries to recover their citizens from the foreign ISIS terrorist militants, considering that this step is very important in order to dismantle Al-Hol camp in Syria. / End
