The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee at the Council of Representatives held a consultative meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of Sustainable Development, in the presence of the representatives of the Finance and National Economy Ministry and the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat).
The consultative meeting was in line with the Representatives Council's interest in achieving decent living for citizens, enhancing efforts to achieve sustainable development goals in a comprehensive manner that benefits all segments of society, and strengthening partnership and cooperation with the executive branch to accelerate the growth rate of the Bahraini economy, raise the standard of living of the citizens and provide the requirements of decent life for all.
Over the past years, the Council of representatives has played a pivotal role, in coordination with the government, to achieve the aspects of sustainable development goals, whether through the parliamentary prerogatives of enacting laws and legislation, or monitoring the executive apparatus of the government, representing the interests of citizens, and expressing their needs and demands for development and modernization.
The Council of Representatives is one of the most important pillars of the reform project, launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
