Manama, The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), announced that First Motors supported planting 150 seedlings along Dry Dock Highway and 60 seedlings on the waterfront in East Hidd City, as part of the national afforestation campaign (Forever Green). Trees such as Hibiscus teliasus, Albizia and Poinciana were selected to provide greenery, purify the air, and enhance the aesthetics of the sites. The first site was inaugurated in the presence of Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of NIAD; Nawaf Khalid Al Zayani, Managing Director of First Motors; and Khalid Al Qallaf, Director General of the Muharraq Municipality. This contribution emphasises the private sector's active role in supporting the government's efforts for environmental sustainability and addressing climate change challenges, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2060.
