A key meeting was held today in Washington as part of the third strategic dialogue between the United States of America.
Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif Al Zayani co-chaired the session with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Al Zayani stressed the importance of joint action between the two countries to tackle regional and international issues, ranging from security to economic prosperity.
He also underlined the need to promote peaceful coexistence and combating extremism, stressing both countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation for the future.
Bliken described the Kingdom of Bahrain as a a longstanding ally and partner to the United States, noting the importance of strategic dialogue which reflects joint ties and the shared desire to further deep cooperation.
“The two countries stand together for the security of the Gulf and work jointly to tackle regional challenges”, he said.
He highlighted joint cooperation within the framework of the Negev Forum, and the aspiration to continue that process that can, in a very practical way, deepen and enhance integration throughout the region, and be a strong source of security, stability and prosperity for all the peoples of the region.
The two sides reviewed historical friendship and strategic partnership between the two friendly countries, and ways to develop joint cooperation in all fields that serve mutual interests and contribute to maintaining security and stability in the region.
They discussed political, economic, security and cultural cooperation between the two countries, and ways to develop them for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples.
