Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Foreign Minister, participated in the 160th GCC Ministerial Council meeting, which was held today in Qatar. The meeting was presided over by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council. It was attended by the Foreign Ministers of the GCC countries, and Jassim Mohammed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC. The meeting reviewed the implementation of the council's previous resolutions, the ministerial committees' recommendations on joint GCC action, the General Secretariat's reports on GCC cooperation, and the progress of free trade negotiations between the GCC and international partners. The council also discussed the results of strategic dialogue meetings between the GCC and other countries, emphasising the importance of implementing approved measures to strengthen cooperation between member states and these nations. The Ministerial Council also discussed regional and international developments, the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, and Arab efforts to ceasefire in the strip, protect civilians, and deliver humanitarian aid to them.
