Manama, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Foreign Affairs Minister held a meeting with a number of Ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting included Clemens Augustinus Hach, German Ambassador to Bahrain; Eric Giraud-Telme, French Ambassador to Bahrain; Alastair Long, British Ambassador to Bahrain; Andrea Catalano, Italian Ambassador to Bahrain; and Elizabeth Hattingh, Chief of the Political and Economic Section at the US Embassy in Bahrain. The Foreign Affairs Minister and the ambassadors discussed Bahrain's distinguished relations with the countries and means to develop them in various fields, the latest regional political developments, and regional and international efforts to maintain regional security and stability. They also exchanged views on enhancing efforts aimed at achieving just and sustainable peace in the region, including the initiative announced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, President of the current session of the Arab Summit, to hold an internatio nal conference for peace in the Middle East. The conference aims to establish an independent Palestinian state, and support efforts to recognise the Palestinian state and accept it as a full member of the United Nations. They also touched upon the initiative announced by President Joe Biden of the US, to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, protect civilians, release hostages and detainees, and deliver humanitarian aid to the people of the Strip, emphasising the need for all concerned parties to respond to this initiative to stop the war in Gaza.
