Kuwait City: French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot underscored the deep and multifaceted relations between France and Kuwait, particularly in diplomatic, economic, and defense fields.
According to Qatar News Agency, during his visit to Kuwait on Thursday, the minister remarked that these relations also extend to culture, higher education, scientific research, and health sectors. Barrot expressed the readiness of French companies to contribute to Kuwait’s economic transformation plan, particularly in areas such as transport, sustainable cities, energy transition, logistics, and connectivity.
On the regional front, the French Minister expressed his concern regarding the resumption of military operations by the Israeli occupation forces, which have led to significant civilian casualties. He also condemned the attacks targeting humanitarian workers, reaffirming France’s commitment to achieving a ceasefire and securing the release of all hostages.
Regarding Syria, Barrot reiterated France’s commitment to supporting a political transition that respects Syria’s pluralism while addressing collective security challenges, most notably counterterrorism.
Concerning Lebanon, the minister conveyed France’s deep concern over escalating tensions in southern Lebanon, urging all parties to adhere to the ceasefire commitments established in November 2024.
