Paris, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, the President of the French Republic, officially opened the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris on Friday evening. The opening ceremony, held along the River Seine, featured 6,800 athletes from 205 countries, transported on 85 boats over a distance of six kilometres.
