The General Authority of Customs (GAC) confirmed the completion of 312,500 custom declarations during the last month of April, as part of its continuous efforts to provide exceptional custom facilities to facilitate the flow of goods.

GAC indicated that 99% of the customs data were released within an hour, pointing out that India was the first destination for exports during 2020, while the United States was at the forefront of importing countries, noting that the Ministry of Municipality and Environment is the best government entity at the time of release.

During 2020, and in light of the Coronavirus pandemic, GAC was able to accomplish a number of achievements at the administrative and field levels, including the development and strengthening of human, technical, and procedural aspects, in addition to increasing the level of coordination and cooperation with various parties inside and outside Qatar. GAC stated that it has progressed in the strategic plan since its adoption by 49% in 2020, 15% more than the previous year, reaching 34% in 2019.
