Manama, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), participated in the 16th session of the GCC Radio and Television Festival that was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. The festival was organised by the Ministry of Information in the kingdom in cooperation with the GCC Radio and Television Corporation. It featured a number of Ministers of Information in the Council's countries and Arab countries, as well as elite specialists in the media field. The secretary general affirmed that Bahrain's hosting of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival since 1994, to celebrate and honour young talents in radio and television, confirms its keenness to support and enhance the creative GCC media. He expressed his sincere appreciation to the government and people of Bahrain for organising the sixteenth session of the GCC Radio and Television Festival, wishing the festival's organisers all success and achievement in its 16th edition, to maintain the successes of previous editions and to continue the progress and development at the media, cultural and social levels. Albudaiwi also praised the efforts made by the Radio and Television Corporation of the GCC countries and its keenness to enhance cooperation and solidarity between the official and private television institutions in the member states, noting the leading position of the GCC media and the creative works it has produced throughout the years.
