Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi announced plans to hold a joint GCC-Japanese ministerial meeting between the GCC Foreign Ministers and the Japanese Foreign Minister during the coming period.
Albudaiwi highlighted that the aim of this meeting is to strengthen the strategic dialogue and bolster aspects of multiple cooperation among both parties.
This came during the meeting of the Secretary General of the GCC with Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida on Sunday in the city of Jeddah.
During the meeting, several issues were discussed, and the officials also cast light on the relations between the Cooperation Council and Japan as well as ways to enhance and develop them to serve common interests.
Albudaiwi underscored that the agreement between both sides to organize the joint ministerial meeting reflects the strength of the links among the two sides and the desire of both of them to develop these ties and move them to broader horizons, describing the GCC-Japanese relations as distinguished, given the fact that both parties have many exceptional economic partnerships as well as joint cooperation in many aspects.
He also praised the great and important role that Japan plays regionally and internationally, and its support for the Council member states in many issues of concern to the GCC.
