GCO Collaborates with Northwestern University in Qatar for Crisis Management Training.

Doha: The Government Communications Office (GCO), in collaboration with Northwestern University in Qatar, has successfully organized a training course titled 'Crisis Communications Strategy and Preparation.' This initiative aims to enhance crisis management skills among representatives from governmental and semi-governmental entities. According to Qatar News Agency, the five-day training held at Northwestern University in Qatar was attended by 22 participants, including directors of public relations and communication from 21 governmental and semi-governmental entities. His Excellency Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani, Director of the GCO, emphasized the importance of empowering national talent in strategic communications and media. He highlighted that these efforts align with the Qatar National Vision 2030's focus on human capital development, showcasing Qatar's achievements and enhancing its international reputation. Dean and CEO of Northwestern University in Qatar, Marwan Kraidy, remarked on th e significance of the Executive Education Program in advancing professional excellence in the evolving media landscape. The collaboration with the GCO is part of this initiative, equipping civil servants with skills crucial for leadership in a dynamic world. This training is part of the GCO's commitment to the Third National Development Strategy, which focuses on developing a skilled and productive national workforce. The GCO is dedicated to offering specialized training programs for communication professionals within governmental and semi-governmental entities. The programs focus on developing strategic communication skills, effective public engagement, digital content creation, and social media management.
