Tehran: A General Authority of Customs delegation paid the Iranian capital a two-day visit to hold talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA). Chaired by HE Chairman of the General Authority of Customs, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal, the delegation discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas related to customs procedures, the exchange of expertise in training, and combating smuggling and customs violations, with the Iranian side.
According to Qatar News Agency, following the discussions, both parties signed a meeting protocol outlining mechanisms for implementing the Mutual Administrative Assistance Agreement previously signed between the two countries. During the visit, HE the Chairman of the General Authority of Customs met with HE Iranian Deputy Minister of Economy and head of IRICA, Foroud Asgari, to discuss mechanisms for technical cooperation between both parties and ways to enhance them in various areas of customs work.
HE Al Jamal also met with HE Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade and head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, Mohammad Ali Dehqan Dehnavi, to talk about ways to boost trade exchange and the role of customs in facilitating and promoting import and export activities between both countries.
