KUWAIT CITY: The Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah Stadium has been officially inaugurated in preparation for the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup, which will take place from December 21 to January 3 in Kuwait. The stadium is set to host its first match next Sunday between Kuwait SC and Al Sulaibikhat SC, before welcoming the opening match of the tournament between Qatar and the United Arab Emirates on December 21. According to Qatar News Agency, the Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah Stadium can accommodate approximately 15,000 spectators and is the second venue to be used for the upcoming Gulf Cup, alongside the larger Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium. The newly opened stadium is noted for its sea view and shell-shaped design, featuring multi-colored external lighting. The 26th Arabian Gulf Cup will feature eight teams, divided into two groups. Group A includes Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, and Oman, while Group B comprises titleholders Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Yemen.
