Bethlehem Ma'an - Hamas spokesman announced the movement's approval of the United Nations' request for a 7-day humanitarian truce to enable vaccination against polio. Egyptian sources said they estimate that such a truce will begin in the coming days, and explained that the truce should last between three and five days, during daylight hours, and will not include areas where Israeli army forces are present. The sources explained that the concerned truce was discussed in Cairo during the visit of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken earlier this month. According to Al Arabiya channel, in light of the faltering negotiations to reach a comprehensive ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, mediators began working to achieve a humanitarian ceasefire for several days to meet humanitarian needs and bring in polio vaccines and hygiene materials in light of the spread of many diseases among the displaced and fears of the spread of the epidemic in the Gaza Strip.
