Head of the Europe Department meets the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Iraq

Baghdad, The Head of the Europe Department, Ambassador Bakr Ahmed Al-Jaf, met today, Tuesday, with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Iraq, Pedro Martinez Avial Martin, at the Ministry building in Baghdad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement, "During the meeting, bilateral relations and ways to enhance them to serve the interests of the two friendly countries , and the most important issues of cooperation of common interest were discussed, especially the exchange of visits between senior officials from both countries, economic cooperation and trade exchange, and the holding of the joint Iraqi-Spanish committee, in addition to scientific and cultural exchange." The Ambassador called for "the necessity of reopening the consular section at the Spanish Embassy and facilitating the granting of entry visas to Iraqi citizens, students and members of official delegations wishing to visit the Kingdom of Spain." The Ambassador stressed "the necessity of continuing cooperation and support bet ween the two sides and working to hold a round of political consultations as soon as possible." For his part, the Spanish Ambassador expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Head of the European Department, Ambassador Bakr Ahmed Al-Jaf, for this meeting and the important topics he addressed in order to develop relations between the two friendly countries.
