Death toll from the heavy rain in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality has risen to five with another person missing, local authorities said on Thursday. Vehement downpours have hit the municipality since Wednesday evening, raising water above alert levels in 15 rivers. Local officials said that a total of 6,985 people in Dianjiang County were affected by the recent heavy rains, including 170 people who were evacuated. Source: Qatar News Agency
