Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahrami, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council (HEC), received Dr. Ebrahim Janahi, President of the British University of Bahrain (BUB).
The Secretary General was briefed on the latest developments related to the university's academic programs in partnership with the University of Salford in Britain, and what it offers to students in various fields.
She stressed the HEC's keenness to provide support to higher education institutions to raise their level of performance and she highlighted the need to synchronise the educational outputs of these institutions with the needs of the labour market.
Dr. Al Jahrami also affirmed the importance of enhancing the integration of modern studies and technologies and the goals of sustainable development in the academic curricula and teaching methods.
She noted the importance of ensuring the sustainability of the academic body's professional development and providing support to university students, as it is one of the most important pillars of building a strong and competitive knowledge society through vocational training and university and community activities, which enhance entrepreneurial skills and creative and innovative thinking.
Dr. Al Jahrami congratulated the president on BUB winning the "University Product of the Year 2023" Award in the INJAZ Bahrain annual Young Entrepreneurs Competition.
