Australian media reported that a helicopter crashed on the roof of a hotel in the far north of the Australian state of Queensland Monday morning, which resulted in the death of the pilot. According to media reports, two other people were injured in the accident. For its part, Australian police declared a state of emergency around the hotel, and evacuated up to 400 people after the accident. Authorities in Cairns State said that they had not yet confirmed the identity of the pilot, the reason for his flight, or how the tourist helicopter was able to take off from Cairns Airport.
