Manama, Al Dana Drama Awards ceremony and the launch of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival in its (16th) session was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, the Minister of Information; Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, GCC Secretary General; and other Arab Ministers of Information and Media attended the ceremony. HH Shaikh Khalid congratulated the winners of Al Dana Drama Award, expressing his appreciation for their role and contributions to elevating the Arab drama through their works. HH Shaikh Khalid said that arts are a reflection of societies, adding that the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has been committed to supporting arts a s a medium to highlight the Bahraini identity and values and a contributor to sustainable development. HH Shaikh Khalid emphasised the importance of festivals and awards in celebrating the efforts of pioneering and young artists, and as a platform for opportunities and exchanging expertise. HH praised the efforts of the Ministry of Information and the Gulf Radio and Television in organising the festival and the award. HH Shaikh Khalid also lauded the efforts of the jury in sorting and evaluating the award-winning works. On the sidelines of the ceremony, HH Shaikh Khalid met with several Arab artists, and he lauded the success of their careers through their works, which are admired on a regional level. He wished the artists further success in the future. HH Shaikh Khalid also met with Tareq Al Ibrahim, MBC drama channel manager at MBC Network. They discussed topics of common interest, lauding MBC for its productions and its sponsorship along with Shahid for Al Dana Award in its first edition. HH Shaikh Khalid wished MBC further success.
