HH the Amir and King of Jordan Address Regional Tensions Amid Iranian Aggression

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HM King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan convened at the Amiri Diwan to deliberate on regional developments amidst the ongoing escalation and persistent Iranian aggression targeting Qatar, Jordan, and several other countries in the region. According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir reiterated Qatar's steadfast support for Jordan's measures to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and citizen safety. In response, HM the King of Jordan expressed unwavering support for Qatar's initiatives to uphold its sovereignty, security, and stability. Both leaders condemned the attacks and emphasized the urgent need for an immediate halt to all military actions that threaten to escalate the conflict and jeopardize the security of nations and their populations. They highlighted the necessity of amplifying regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and pursue diplomatic resolutions to the ongoing crises. The discussions also covered a range of regional and international matters of mutual interest, underscoring the importance of sustained coordination and consultation between Qatar and Jordan. They focused on current developments and their potential impact on regional security and stability. Additionally, HH the Amir and HM the King engaged in a bilateral meeting to explore avenues for enhancing the relations between their countries. They exchanged perspectives on various regional and international issues, particularly the ongoing crisis and its effects on global peace and security. The session was attended by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, and senior officials. Members of the delegation accompanying HM the King were also present from the Jordanian side.
