Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, and the Minister of Sustainable Development, Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif met with a group of Bahraini professionals working in global companies and institutions specializing in finance, banking, technology, sustainability, and social development, on the side-lines of their visit to New York to participate at the United Nations High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2023.
Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, shared her pride in the achievements of Bahrainis working abroad across all sectors, in particular, she congratulated them on their competence, commitment, innovation, dedication.
She also noted that this comes as an affirmation of the capabilities of Bahraini talents and their great potential to not only be present, but to compete in global markets.
The Minister of Sustainable Development, Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif expressed her immense pride in the Bahraini professionals in New York as ambassadors of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad, in their respective sectors and fields of work.
She stressed the value of a vibrant and capable human capital as a cornerstone for achieving sustainable development. She also explained the interplay between human capital and the effective delivery of all government plans and programmes through investment in education, training, youth support and women's empowerment.
During the discussions, Bahrainis working in New York shared their success stories and ambitions and were briefed on key developments and trends in the local landscape in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Discussions have also revolved around how to further activate the pivotal role of Bahraini youth at home and abroad to shed light on the Kingdom of Bahrain’s achievements and strengths, and how to enhance communication channels between Bahraini talents abroad and the public and private sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in order to ensure effective exchange of knowledge, flow of expertise and supporting the growth of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In conclusion, Ambassador Jamal Al Rowaiei, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, stressed the importance of maintaining strong communication channels with the Mission and his great desire and members of the Mission to continue to support Bahrainis abroad succeed and overcome any challenges they may face.
