His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to Bahrain's citizens and residents, and to the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Prophet Mohammed’s date of birth.
The Cabinet affirmed the importance of the values and principles of Islam to society, which are based on compassion, peace, tolerance, and co-existence.
To mark World Tourism Day, the Cabinet expressed its pride in the efforts of Bahrain's workforce in the tourism sector and its supporting sectors, such as transportation, hospitality, restaurants, retail, entertainment and exhibition centres, culture and conferences.
The Cabinet highlighted Team Bahrain's efforts in implementing the wide-ranging plans and programmes that aim to enhance the country’s tourism sector, which is vital to to the Kingdom's comprehensive development.
The Cabinet discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:
1. A memorandum submitted by the Government Executive Committee regarding priority draft laws aimed at keeping pace with the Kingdom's development needs.
2. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a memorandum on renewing the framework of the Kingdom's regional programme on cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency for 2024-2029.
3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding an MoU between the Ministry of Interior and Gulf University to provide specialised educational programmes for employees of the General Directorate to implement rulings and alternative sentencing, as well as their recipients.
4. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding three MoUs and two frameworks between the University of Bahrain and a number of local and international academic organisations and institutes.
5. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs regarding the ongoing preparations for the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council meeting.
The Cabinet then reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs following up on the performance of government agencies across the "Sijilat", "Tawasul", and "Benayat" systems until September 2023, and in comparison with the same period in 2022, which remain vital indicators of government service efficiency, and supports investments and trade.
In addition, the Cabinet noted the following ministerial reports:
1. The Kingdom’s participation in the ninth meeting of the Committee of GCC Labor Ministers
2. The Kingdom’s participation in the Climate Ambition Summit
3. The Kingdom’s participation in the 25th meeting of the ministers responsible for climate affairs in the GCC
4. The Kingdom’s participation in the ninth meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Social Affairs and Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries
5. Outcomes of a visit made by a delegation from the Education and Training Quality Authority to the United Kingdom
6. The Kingdom’s participation in the 2023 SDG Summit
7. The external participation of government officials and the visits of foreign delegations to the Kingdom of Bahrain
