Doha, Representing the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) participated in the 26th GCC eGovernment Executive Committee meeting held in Qatar. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, iGA Chief Executive, and heads of GCC eGovernments and directors attended the meeting. The committee reviewed the Secretariat's report, the progress of the eGovernment strategy guide initiatives. It examined the achievements of their task forces, particularly those related to the digital transformation strategy for the joint GCC market. The Executive Committee discussed the joint GCC eServices priority list, software and hardware procurement recommendations, and approval of Bahrain's guidelines for the ethical use of AI in the GCC. The committee also discussed the outcomes of the eGovernment Priorities workshop, the enhanced GCC e-portal launch and data update, and Saudi Arabia's hosting of the 2023 eGovernment Award. The committee concluded its meeting by discussing new agenda items, including Saudi Arabia's presentation on the Internet Governance Forum 2024 (IGF). Source: Bharain News Agency
