Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, met with Zheng Shanjie, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) in Beijing, where the two parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the Patent Prosecution Highway Pilot Program.
The minister lauded the longstanding Bahraini-Chinese relations and affirmed the keenness to continue expanding cooperation in various fields.
He expressed the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing innovation and developing policies and procedures that protect intellectual property, pointing out the importance of exchanging experiences to promote progress and growth in this field.
Fakhro added that the MoU aims to enhance cooperation and exchange of knowledge in the field of intellectual property protection and develop innovation capabilities in both countries, strengthen economic and technical cooperation, promote innovation and develop important industries in both countries in a way that serves bilateral economic relations.
