The Iraqi National Security Service (INSS) announced the overthrow of a drug network in Erbil that practices trade and promotion of marijuana and contact international with major dealers outside Iraq. The INSS stated in a statement: 'Through accurate intelligence information and obtaining judicial approvals, the Iraqi National Security Service detachments were able to overthrow a drug network in Erbil that practices trade and promotion of marijuana and international contact with major dealers outside Iraq.' It added: "The operation came after monitoring the defendants' route (Baghdad-Erbil) and providing the Anti-Narcotics Directorate in Erbil with intelligence information about their whereabouts to raid them and arrest them red-handed." INSS continued: 'The defendants were received by Erbil Asayish in accordance with the law and referred to the competent judicial authorities to take the necessary measures against them.
