Doha: Qatari newspapers highlighted on Wednesday the strong international solidarity with the State of Qatar and the continued global support for measures taken to safeguard national security, stability, and the safety of citizens and residents. The newspapers emphasized that this solidarity reflects Doha's role as both a reliable partner and a key contributor to fostering stability, underscoring that Doha's handling of recent developments has reinforced global confidence, further cementing its position as a pillar of regional and international security.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya newspaper stated that in a scene reflecting Qatar's established position on the international stage, expressions of support continue to pour in from across the world through official messages, phone calls, and statements of condolence, following the martyrdom of a number of its citizens in the crash of a military helicopter belonging to the armed forces. The paper noted that the genuine response reflected a deep international appreciation for Qatar as well as a commitment to supporting its stability and security amid current challenges. In this context, the paper referred to the phone call received by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani from the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Natasa Pirc Musar, which carried significant humanitarian and political messages. She extended her sincere condolences and sympathy, reaffirming her country's full solidarity with Qatar and praising the measures taken to ensure its security and stability.
Al-Raya added that the clear condemnation of attacks targeting infrastructure, particularly in the energy sector, reflects an international stance rejecting any violation of state sovereignty or threats to its security. International engagement with Qatar was not limited to condolences and solidarity, but extended to broad praise for its vital role in international mediation. Al-Raya concluded that Qatar's diplomatic approach and humanitarian initiatives, particularly in evacuating civilians from conflict zones, have earned increasing international recognition, citing praise from the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Poland for Doha's assistance in facilitating the evacuation of their nationals.
For its part, under the headline "Qatar: Continued International Solidarity and Support," Al-Sharq newspaper stated in its editorial that broad international solidarity with Qatar continues, alongside support for the measures taken to ensure its security, stability, and the safety of citizens and residents. The paper pointed to the calls received by HH the Amir from the President of the Republic of Slovenia Natasa Pirc Musar and the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Mitsotakis, both of whom affirmed their countries' full solidarity with Qatar and strongly condemned the Iranian aggression, particularly attacks on energy infrastructure. They also expressed sincere condolences to HH the Amir and the Qatari people for the martyrs of the Qatari Armed Forces helicopter crash in the country's territorial waters.
The newspaper explained that the two calls also served as an opportunity to review developments in the region amid ongoing aggression and war, as well as de-escalation efforts and prioritizing diplomatic solutions and dialogue; thereby contributing to regional and international peace. Al-Sharq added that this broad support and strong backing enjoyed by Qatar from sisterly and friendly nations stem from the respect and standing of its wise leadership on the global stage, as well as Qatar's consistent role in mediation, peaceful conflict resolution, and efforts regionally and internationally to enhance security and stability.
Al-Sharq concluded by stating that the State of Qatar's leadership, government, and people are grateful for all these strong supportive stances from brothers and friends, their sincere feelings, unlimited solidarity, and condemnation of the Iranian aggression. It affirmed that Qatar will continue its full support for all diplomatic paths aimed at de-escalation and ending the war, while not neglecting its duty to defend its land and sovereignty.
