Madrid - Together - A judge in Madrid, investigating 'possible irregularities' in special contracts for the Spanish Football Federation, agreed to investigate Barcelona legend Gerard Pique regarding the alleged corruption case of the Spanish Football Federation. Pique will be subject to investigation, in order to find out the extent of his agreement on an annual commission worth 4 million euros with the Spanish Federation, regarding the contract under which he transferred the Super Cup from Spain to Saudi Arabia. Judge Delia Rodrigo issued a ruling yesterday, Thursday, in which she agreed to expand the investigation into 15 people, including Gerard Pique, Pedro Rocha, president of the Spanish Federation, and businessman Francisco Javier Alcaide, a personal friend of the former president of the Federation, Luis Rubiales. The expanded investigation also included the 'Groconsa' company, which carried out the work at La Cartuja Stadium in Seville. Spanish Football League President Javier Tebas said in stateme nts reported by the "Relevo" network: "Pique's accusation? I'm not surprised... Things are not over yet." He added: "In reality... the Spanish Football Federation was run by a criminal organization," referring to the period of Luis Rubiales as president of the Spanish Football Federation, which ended in a resounding scandal. Rubiales left the federation and was banned from practicing any sporting activity due to what is known in the media as the 'Hermoso Kiss' following the 2023 Women's World Cup final.
