IPA Qatar Signs MoU with Microsoft to Enhance Qatar’s Digital Transformation

The Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (IPA Qatar) signed yesterday the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft Corporation, the global tech giant, during the launch ceremony of the corporation’s cloud data center region in Qatar.

This agreement, which was signed by HE Sheikh Ali bin Alwaleed Al Thani, IPA Qatar CEO, and Ms. Lana Khalaf, Microsoft Qatar General Manager, reinforces the mutual commitment of both organizations to developing an innovation-driven digital sector in the State of Qatar.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will collaborate to promote the State of Qatar as the leading location for the digital technology sector in the region. This is by organizing joint marketing activities, as well as developing initiatives to cultivate local digital talent.

The two partners will also collaborate to develop initiatives that help in empowering and attracting start-ups and fast-growing young tech companies in key sectors such as agriculture, finance and insurance, energy, and sustainability.
